Cricket's three formats and Bangladesh's favourite tournaments

T20

This twenty-over format is the fastest. The run rate moves up and down every over, so betting odds shift quickly as well. BPL and IPL are both played in this format.

BPL · IPL · T20 World Cup

ODI

Strategy plays a bigger role in fifty-over ODI matches. Odds are determined by the run count and wickets fallen at the midpoint of an innings. The ICC World Cup is played in this format.

ICC World Cup · Bilateral Series

Test

In five-day Test cricket, a draw is a valid result. This means the market has three possible outcomes — win, loss and draw — which gives the odds structure a different shape.

Two innings · Draw possible

BPL is Bangladesh's own franchise tournament — a mix of local and overseas players makes it very popular every season. Although IPL takes place outside the country, it draws equal interest from Bangladeshi fans. The Bangladesh national team (Tigers) participates in the T20 World Cup and ICC-organised series, keeping interest in international matches high as well.

Football and other sports are also available at rbaje alongside cricket. Football has three possible outcomes since a draw is possible, giving a 1X2 market, whereas T20 cricket generally has only two. In addition, the virtual sports section lets you bet on computer-generated matches at any time of day — no real match schedule to wait for.

rbaje's popular betting markets

rbaje cricket betting market options

Here is a brief overview of the most common markets in cricket betting:

Match Winner

Pick which of the two teams will win. Example: Team A vs Team B — if you pick Team B and Team B wins, your bet is successful.

Toss Winner

Bet on which team will win the toss before the match starts. Since the result is entirely random, the odds for both teams are usually close to each other.

Top Batsman

Predict which batsman will score the most runs in a specific innings or across the full match. Because there are multiple possibilities in this market, the odds tend to be higher.

Total Runs Over/Under

Choose whether the total runs in the match will be more (over) or less (under) than a set number. Example: will total runs exceed 150?

Multi Bet

Combine multiple selections into a single bet. If all selections are correct, the odds are multiplied together, so the potential return increases significantly — but if even one is wrong, the entire bet is lost.

Handicap

A notional advantage is given to the weaker team to balance the bet. The size of that advantage appears as the handicap figure next to the odds.

Innings Run Range

Predict whether a team's first-innings score will fall within a specific range. Example: Team A scores between 120 and 149 in the first innings.

Understanding odds in three formats

The same odds can be written three ways — decimal, fractional and American. At rbaje you can choose your preferred format. The examples below show the difference clearly:

Format Odds for Team A to win Odds for Team B to win (favourite)
Decimal 2.25 1.25
Fractional 5/4 1/4
American +125 -400

Example 1 — Team A, ৳200 bet

Decimal 2.25 = Fractional 5/4 = American +125. If the bet wins, the return is ৳450 (৳250 profit + ৳200 stake). If the bet loses, ৳200 is gone.

Example 2 — Team B (favourite), ৳200 bet

Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American -400. A negative American odds figure shows how much you need to bet to win ৳100. On a ৳200 bet, a win returns ৳250 in total (৳50 profit).

Limited-overs cricket matches do not end in a draw, so a market usually has two possible outcomes. In Test cricket, however, a draw is possible, so three odds are shown. Before placing a bet, you can find more details on the FAQ page.

Live in-play betting — a new opportunity on every ball

rbaje live in-play cricket betting screen

Live betting is a feature where odds update with each event as the match progresses. When a wicket falls, the odds against the batting team increase. When plenty of runs come in an over, the odds in favour of the batting team shorten.

Say Team A has made a strong start in the first 10 overs — at that point, Team A's odds to win will shorten because they are becoming the favourite. But if two wickets fall in the 11th over in quick succession, Team B's chances of winning improve and the odds shift accordingly.

There is less time to decide during in-play. So make sure you understand the rules of the game and the market structure beforehand. Remember — betting is a form of entertainment, not a guaranteed way to make money.

  • When a wicket falls, odds against the batting team increase
  • When boundaries push the run rate up, odds in favour of the batting team shorten
  • Odds show a big movement at the end of the powerplay
  • Odds fluctuate the most in a close finish in the final over

Useful tips for cricket betting

1

Bet according to the format

In T20, a single over can change the course of a match. In ODI, the run rate around the middle overs matters. In Test cricket, pitch conditions and weather play a big role. Each format has its own pace — choose your markets accordingly.

2

Set your own stake amount

Before each bet, decide the maximum you are willing to lose. Do not bet more than that. Following the responsible gaming guidelines keeps the enjoyment going over the long term.

3

Be careful with multi bets

Because combined odds are much higher in a multi bet, the potential return also increases — but so does the risk, equally. If even one selection is wrong, the entire bet is lost. Get comfortable by starting with fewer selections.

4

Avoid rushing in live betting

Because odds change fast in-play, there is a temptation to decide quickly. But placing a bet without reading the match situation increases the chance of mistakes. Take a moment to read the situation, then make your decision.

5

Treat betting as entertainment

Cricket betting is a way to enjoy the game, not a reliable source of income. Rather than placing large bets in the hope of profit, take part for the enjoyment of the sport. If you keep losing, take a break.

21+ Cricket betting is only for persons aged 21 and above.

Football and other sports

Alongside cricket, football and other sports are also available for betting. Football commonly uses the 1X2 market since a draw is possible. Goals over/under is a popular market in football compared to cricket, given the lower-scoring nature of the game.

Multi bet and cricket match winner calculations

rbaje multi bet slip and odds calculation

In limited-overs cricket, the match winner market usually has two outcomes. Take an example where Team A has odds of 1.65 and Team B has odds of 2.30 (decimal). A ৳1,000 bet on Team B returns ৳2,300 if Team B wins (৳1,300 profit); if Team A wins, ৳1,000 is lost.

You can combine two more selections with this match to build a multi bet — say the odds for the three selections are 1.50, 1.60 and 1.90 respectively. The combined odds would be 1.50 × 1.60 × 1.90 = 4.56 (rounded). A ৳100 bet returns ৳456 if all three win — but if even one loses, the full ৳100 is gone.

For full details on bonuses, wagering and account matters, please read the terms and conditions page.

Cricket Match Winner

Team A: 1.65 | Team B: 2.30
৳1,000 bet on Team B → ৳2,300 if it wins

Three-Selection Multi Bet

1.50 × 1.60 × 1.90 = 4.56
৳100 bet → ৳456 if all win

Common questions about cricket betting

Each format has its own characteristics. In T20, results come quickly and odds shift frequently, so staying alert during live betting is important. In ODI, the pace is moderate — there is more time to read how the match is developing. In Test cricket, a draw is possible, so you are betting across three outcomes. Which one is "easier" depends on which format of cricket you follow most closely.

When a wicket falls, the batting team's chances of winning drop, so their odds increase — meaning they are no longer the favourite. Conversely, the bowling team's odds shorten because they have gained an advantage. This change happens immediately, and the shift is larger when a top-order batsman is dismissed.

The types of markets are the same for both — match winner, top batsman, total runs and so on. However, BPL has fewer teams and a shorter season, so the points table shifts quickly. IPL is a bigger tournament, so more markets and analysis are available. T20 format rules apply to both.

You can generally add anywhere from two selections upwards in a single bet. However, as the number increases, the chance of all selections being correct decreases. In a multi bet, if even one selection loses, the entire bet is lost. For new players, starting with two or three selections is a sensible approach.

If a match is abandoned or suspended due to rain or any other reason, bet settlement depends on the site's rules. Generally, if the match is not officially completed, the bet is voided and the stake is returned. However, if a minimum number of overs have been completed to produce a result, the bet may still stand — see the terms and conditions page for full details.
